FRESHWATER MERMAID
Like a mermaid’s flowing hair, the branches of a fallen and submerged tree eerily draw one into the cold, clear waters of this mountain pond.
The color of the water in this photograph is extraordinary. I had nothing to do with it. In certain lightening the image appears to generate it’s own effervescent glow and it is a most alluring effect. Your imagination can be, quite literally, seduced. In the upper left hand corner you will note the reflection of some conifers upon the water. These were intentionally not edited out. I often do not edit what some might consider imperfections as I have come to believe imperfections are what make the world a more interesting and intriguing place.
This image captured at a tiny, no name pond found in the Stillwater State Forest, Montana.
